Bench Bio Private Limited (BenchBio) is a leader in improving crops using a non- transgenic method TILLING (Targeting Induced Lesions In Genome). It has strong links with top European labs and is providing biotechnology solutions to the agricultural sector worldwide. BenchBio is incubated inside the campus of Jai Research Foundation at Vapi city (Gujarat) near Mumbai and is focusing on discovering important traits in plants both for agricultural and consumer value.
BenchBio’s TILLING method is based upon the Crop Functional Genomics group of INRA, France developed by Dr. Abdelhafid Bendahmane. BenchBio owns a license on patent and know-how from INRA-Transfer to use this technology.
